Substrate Oats
Oats are an excellent substrate for growing mushrooms; they are more capable of retaining moisture than wheat. Larger grain carriers, which include Oats, have a larger supply of nutrients, allow the mycelium to “start” more successfully when growing in various substrates, even of not always optimal quality.
For mushroom growers, especially for beginners, it is always better and easier to use mycelium on large grains such as Oats.
