Seeds of low-smelling hemp varieties

In almost all countries, the cultivation of psychoactive marijuana, even for personal use, is illegal. The plant can be secretly grown at home, without informing even close people about it. But only low-smelling cannabis seeds can guarantee truly stealthy grow.

The hallmark of cannabis is an unforgettable smell.

Although hemp is not a fragrant plant, many people like its specific and easily recognizable smell. However, he gives out even the most cunningly hidden plantation out of the way or a grow box at home. There are two ways to deal with this phenomenon: buy seeds of low-smelling marijuana strains or eliminate the leakage of aroma from the grow box.

A better solution would be to prevent the very fact of the appearance of cannabis bushes with a bright aroma.

IMPORTANT: The strength of the psychoactive effect of marijuana does not depend in any way on the presence or absence of the smell of cannabis at any time, from seed to joint.

These herb parameters depend on different chemicals. If THC and CBD from the cannabinoid group are responsible for the recreational and medical effect, then the smell of marijuana depends on the essential oil with a complex composition including alkanes, ketones, and the amount of terpenes. The aroma is formed not only on flowering, but mostly during drying and curing. The uniqueness and originality of the smell of each variety of cannabis depends on two substances: terpinolene and pinene.

IMPORTANT: police dogs react to caryophyllene and humulene when searching for marijuana. These are two similar compounds of the terpene series, with a weak aroma for the human sense of smell. It works best in hashish. But it is the smell of these substances that dogs associate with the smell of hemp.

Cannabis essential oil should be clearly distinguished from any other substance from this plant. The fact is that the essential oil is obtained from female inflorescences by steam distillation, and there are no psychoactive components in it.

The smell of cannabis at different stages

There is a significant difference between the aroma of a cannabis bush and the smoke from a marijuana cigarette. You can make odorless marijuana from any variety of cannabis, but after the harvest. But before harvesting, the strongest smell of grass is formed during flowering.

It is on the trichomes, in parallel with THC and other cannabinoids, that the substances that make up the aroma are synthesized. The sum of all these substances is called cannabis essential oil. It is impossible to get rid of these substances completely, however, the seeds of some cannabis varieties can produce a weak-smelling grass. One of the main hallmarks of odorless marijuana is the absence of Skunk in its genetics.

When the breeders created the Skunk variety, they had the goal of imbuing marijuana seeds with an extremely strong and persistent flavor. The result exceeded expectations, the new variety won several cups, and became a platform for the development of lines with sustainable flavors and aromas.

But it's the Skunk genetics in marijuana seeds that guarantee strong odor starting in the middle of the growing season. And during flowering, the aroma acquires such strength that even a plantation successfully hidden in the forest, in good weather, can be smelled 10-12 meters away.

Substances that form the smell of cannabis are quickly destroyed under bright sunlight, in the open air in a humid atmosphere. If the air is dry, the aroma is retained better.

The best way to deal with the smell of cannabis in the street is by disguise. If the plantation is serious, then around you can scatter the seed of nondescript, but strong-smelling flowers.

IMPORTANT: even the seeds of low-smelling strains produce cannabis with a smell, it's just weaker. But it is present, and can accumulate in high concentrations.

Indoor grow technology makes it easier to eliminate odor, but it's a whole science.

The smell of hemp in the grow box

A weak-smelling variety of cannabis can only be considered as such in the open air. In a closed room, the air from it in a few hours will be saturated with spicy musk of oriental spices. It is very easy to sniff it, and stop noticing it, but the "fresh nose" will receive a portion of such sensations that I will testify to the presence of varietal marijuana in the room.

Eliminate the smell in the room is possible only with constant supply and exhaust ventilation of the growbox. In this case, the outlet pipe of the air duct must open to the street.

IMPORTANT: if you use a carbon filter , then the air from the grow box can go through it directly into the room. Practice shows that for these purposes it is permissible to use filters from old military gas masks. But the degree of air purification must be checked empirically.

Moist air well eliminates the smell of hemp, for this a household humidifier is installed in the room.

A great help will be the placement of potted flowers on the windowsills of the apartment. If professionally selected plants, they will bloom almost constantly, and participate in masking the smell of cannabis.

When in doubt, geraniums on all window sills will be a great addition to a grow box of any size.

Cannabis Smell Strategies in the Grove

Victory in any war is achieved with fewer forces and with greater speed if the attack comes from several fronts. To deal with the aroma of marijuana follows a similar scenario:

  1. Order low-smelling hemp seeds;
  2. Ensure reliable sealing of the growbox;
  3. Install a complete air / ventilation filter system;
  4. Place fragrant potted flowers in the room;
  5. Ventilate the room regularly.

And most importantly - limit access to the room with the growbox. Leave it as your personal space.

For outdoor growers, the best way to deal with cannabis odor is to mask it.
