General Hydroponics was founded in the mid-1970s near San Francisco, California by a group of scientists, researchers and technicians. Today, GH is recognized by the international scientific community for its reliability, product quality and continuous innovation. For several years, the company was known all over the world: in Canada, Australia and Europe, where GHE was founded in 1995 in the southwest of France. We offer a technology called "Aerohydroponics": plants are grown not in soil, but in a well-balanced nutrient solution rich in oxygen. (See below for more details.) Due to its adaptability, this alternative growing method has a huge potential. This method can be applied in any conditions: it allows you to grow both in a big city and in a remote rural area. One of the concepts that we are implementing back in California is the Family Farm. The concept of "Family Homestead" is aimed at ensuring that families or individuals, regardless of their place of residence, can independently grow part of the vegetables they consume, and not buy expensive products from intermediaries. And also, with an excess harvest, be able to sell vegetables at the local market, cooperatives or restaurants. In our greenhouses in the south of France, we study several highly sought-after crops to give gardeners an alternative to traditional crops and break the vicious cycle of endless subsidies. We pay special attention to the study of medicinal plants, in the cultivation of which there is a problem of improving the quality of the crop and stopping the collection of endangered plant species. Our research is aimed at selecting the right species, optimizing their yield and increasing the content of active elements in them. Knowing about the lack of food and water on our planet, we are participating in projects to provide food to the population of third world countries. By adapting our technologies to existing conditions, we educate the population on how to meet their basic food needs, and where possible, how to generate an income. As environmentalists, we strive to recycle recycled materials. Solving the problem of electricity consumption, we are currently testing the first solar-powered systems in California. After several years of intense research, we are proud to offer a new concept of plant cultivation - "bioponics" (patent no. 05.11569), i.e. organic hydroponics.
