When you opened a bottle of beer, did you notice that it smelled a bit like cannabis? Well, it turns out hemp and hops (Humulus) are very closely related. So close, in fact, that hops may even contain CBD, a phyto-cannabinoid that until now was thought to exist only in cannabis and industrial hemp.
The Peak Health Foundation is a St. Frankish nutrition company that recently launched a CBD product made from a special breed of hops. The process began over a decade ago after scientists at Peak Health discovered CBD in local hop samples from Asia.
The Peak Health team then worked to specifically breed these hop varieties to create a new variety now known as Humulus kriya.
Unfortunately, it is significantly inferior to cannabis in terms of CBD concentration and this is only the beginning of the hop hybridization path, it also does not have the full spectrum that cannabis CBD contains and is so valued in medicine, but just like cannabis, Cree hop contains terpenes such as humulene and beta-caryophyllene .
Earlier this year, Medical Marijuana Inc. has released a new brand of CBD oil made using this variety of hops. The oil marketed as Real Scientific Humulus Oil (RSHO-K) unfortunately contains less than 1% CBD so far. It is currently only available in 118 ml bottles. This concentration is significantly less than other oils derived from marijuana or industrial hemp, some of which contain up to 20% CBD (for example, highly concentrated CBD Oil Tintucture 1500mg ).
Of course, unlike CBD oils from cannabis or CBD oils from industrial hemp, Humulus oil is much easier to distribute because hops are legal worldwide. For example, in the US, hop extracts are "generally considered safe" by the Food and Drug Administration. But at the same time, hemp CBD oils are becoming legal throughout Europe and are already available in all 50 US states, of course in America they are still a controversial product at the federal level, but when analyzing the benefits of both products and the concentration of CBD in them, it becomes obvious that the race will win namely CBD oil from cannabis .
The low concentrations of CBD in this Humulus hop oil are a concern. Most cannabis-derived CBD oils contain a minimum of 2% CBD, already double the strength of the hop oil sold by Medical Marijuana Inc. But still CBD oil from hops may be of interest only to those people who do not need the medical effects of CBD and want to try it purely for therapeutic purposes (for example, as a multivitamin in winter).
Dr. Bomi Joseph, director of the Peak Health Foundation, explained that he is looking for an alternative CBD that is not found in cannabis or industrial hemp in order to get ahead of the time it takes to legalize CBD worldwide. He eventually studied hops, a member of the Cannabaceae family, and found that several samples from Asia (where hops grow naturally) do contain trace amounts of cannabinoids.
Since its inception, Peak Health has let Medical Marijuana Inc take care of the distribution of the oil. How this innovation will ultimately affect the production, extraction and distribution of CBD is not yet clear, especially since hemp is finally freed from the shackles of the ban and can completely absorb the benefits of the novelty with hops. However, this is an exciting step forward in the true understanding of cannabinoids and their multifaceted nature.
Now in Ukraine and other countries of the former CIS - there are companies selling CBD from hops, we strongly recommend that you check what you buy by brand name, for example, the products described in this article (even those that we do not sell) exist and are very famous, reviews, they can be easily found on the Internet by name or by images and many articles.
After analyzing offers in the CIS for the query "cbd from hops" we came across one of the CBD products, which is produced in the USA. We searched for the address of the manufacturer in the USA, and also looked for any mention of these brands on the net, unfortunately we could not find out the origin of these products, but we managed to find out that the address of the manufacturer is virtual and can be bought for a fixed monthly cost, which means that any a resident of the CIS can acquire a fictitious address in the USA - in order to show his belonging to the American market, which means that you need to be very careful about the declared indicators of the composition of such a product, since in fact this is marketing and it is not known what kind of product it is and where it was genuinely manufactured, and the cost of these products is the same as that of trusted manufacturers with an established reputation. Choose wisely if you don't want a placebo!
