CBD coffee is a combination of two of our three favorite molecules: caffeine and cannabidiol (CBD). The third molecule in this triumvirate of power is, of course, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), but it is banned in our country, so this topic is not relevant now.

Caffeine



Caffeine - or C8H10N4O2 - is a natural stimulant found in the seeds, nuts and leaves of a number of plants native to Africa and South America.

The most famous source of caffeine is coffee beans. In fact, people have been roasting these beans for the purpose of making a drink since the mid-15th century (that's the 1400s, baby).

It is worth noting that plants containing caffeine use it as a defense mechanism to protect themselves from predators.

In this sense, it is very similar to the cannabinoid molecules in the marijuana plant, which also serve to protect against predators.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid that is one of the main building blocks of the cannabis plant.

Other cannabinoids include:

How to Make Your Own CBD Coffee

Super-simple option (for the lazy, allowed with us)

Ingredients and materials:

  1. Brew your favorite coffee or take it to any coffee shop
  2. Take out a jar of CBD Oil (For example: CBD Oil Tincture Isolate 1000mg )
  3. Pipette directly into the coffee the amount you need (You can calculate the dosage in our " CBD Dosage Calculator ")
  4. Give it a little stir and voila, your CBD coffee is ready!


The option is more difficult, for advanced (for other countries where it is allowed or ..)

Ingredients and materials:

  1. ½ gram of your favorite high CBD bud variety
  2. 3 glasses of water
  3. 2 tablespoons butter or coconut oil
  4. Pot or kettle for boiling
  5. Strainer
  6. Large cup or 4 smaller measuring cups for pumping
  7. Pot or coffee maker for final brewing


Recipe

1) Grind.


Chop your weed as finely as possible.

You can, of course, cut your bumps with a knife if that makes you happy. But we live by the “Work smarter, not harder” principle and prefer to use a coffee grinder or grinder instead. It's easier, faster, and simply better. Don't make your life harder than it needs to be.


2) Cooking

Pour 3 cups of water into a saucepan and bring to a boil. If you need more explanation for this step, you can step aside and let someone smarter do it for you (it's as simple as possible)

Once the water boils, add 2 tablespoons of butter or coconut oil.


3) Simmer

When the butter is completely melted, lower the heat until the water boils.

Sprinkle with cannabis and let everything simmer for 40 minutes. Stir the infusion several times to keep the plant material from sticking to the side of the pot.


4) Strain

After 40 minutes, pour the water/oil/cones mixture through a strainer to remove the crushed cannabis particles. Don't worry. This prior manipulation already left the good things (CBD and terpenes) during the 40 minute boil session.

All you need to do, as you hopefully understand, is get rid of the residue in your fluid.


5) Brewing



You are now ready to make your CBD coffee!

Pour the water you just brewed into a coffee maker or teapot for brewing. Add your favorite coffee grounds and brew.


6) Stir (optional)

As your CBD coffee cools, the oil or oil will separate from the water. You can extend the time the mixture stays in solution by running your brewed coffee through a blender before drinking, or just mix it well with a spoon. Of course, if you drink your coffee fast enough, this shouldn't be a problem.


What to Expect When You Drink CBD Coffee

From the very first sip of CBD coffee, you will immediately feel the effects of caffeine, just like with a regular cup of coffee.

Those good feelings should get you through the next hour or so (depending on your weight, metabolism, tolerance, and other variables) until the CBD kicks in. The timing of the effect should not come as a surprise, since you are essentially consuming your dose of CBD through your stomach: like eating a cannabis muffin or drinking hemp tea (these don't work instantly either, as they need to pass through your stomach).


Digestion and absorption take time, but like any food, the effects will be stronger and last longer than if you smoked, vaped or dubbed. So it pays to be patient and let your body do its thing.
